A Comparative Laboratory Study of the Chemical Effects of Weapons Cleaners on Copper
Copper deposits form in the barrel bore during firing. To remove them, manufacturers offer specialized and all-purpose cleaners, but it’s difficult to tell from the packaging descriptions exactly how their effects differ.
To compare these products in practice, the KENOKO LLC laboratory conducted an experiment with 13 cleaners from various brands. All formulations were tested under identical conditions, and their effect on copper was evaluated. The comparison included copper cleaners, carbon deposit removers, and all-purpose products.
The results showed which formulations had the strongest effect on copper and how closely the performance metrics of the leading products matched. The full table of results and a description of the experiment are published in our article.
